Emergency Preparedness
We monitor the health of our community and meet regularly with key community agencies and departments in order to be as prepared as possible for community emergencies- whether it’s a tornado, flood, illness or something else. We routinely collect, analyze, and disseminate data that may be relevant for the prevention and control of a public health problem. We receive weekly reports regarding communicable disease from local medical providers, schools and child care centers. We have written plans that we practice with the police and fire departments, Riley County Emergency Management, KSU, Mercy Health Center, school personnel, the Red Cross and others.
